The artists
Two voices. One project.
Solar was founded by João Lobato and Thiago Zíngaro. Their work moves across string instruments, percussion and musical traditions from different parts of the world.
Solar’s members have performed in renowned spaces in Brazil, England, Scotland and Mozambique, bringing acoustic instruments and cross-cultural musical ideas into intimate and live performance settings.
The musical journey includes instruments associated with India, Iran, Turkey, the Philippines, Angola and Zimbabwe, alongside adapted popular instruments from Brazil.
